Munkudil is a luxury Ayurveda Yoga retreat in the midst of thick forest, mountains and rivers. It is located in the Thattekkadu Salim Ali bird sanctuary, on the banks of the Kuttampuzhayar river in the heart of Kerala, surrounded by rich flora and fauna.
The property looks a lot like an art gallery from inside out to outside in.
An artist team stayed here for one year and used a variety of organic mediums for these unique yoga ayurveda inspired creations. Adding the green element ideas to make a full theme resort was a time-consuming task, and it took around 2 years of patience and nurturing.

The property lies in between a slow-flowing river and a thick forest. We believe in the concept of Green Architecture. The experience offered is a blend of Ayurveda, Yoga and Indian Culture on the lap of Mother Earth.
Clean Air, Water & Land
We have clean mineral well water, which is comes direct from the forest. As a hilly/misty region, it is suitable to live here even in the hot season. Lots of rare medicinal plants are grown in the retreat gardens. Honey from our bees and milk from our cows are used in our medicines.
Caring Little Things
Munkudil demonstrates how to tap into free natural resources and uses them wisely without wastage. We have solar power, use clay for cool food storage and ventilation, bio gas for cooking, our water comes from the forest.

Jomy, the creator and founder of Munkudil, searched many places in Idukki and the surrounding areas.
After seeing this place, by the Kuttampuzhayar River, there was no hesitation.
